After meeting with the Foreign Minister, Secretary of State ratifies US support for Ukraine

The US keeps Venezuela on the list of countries that do not collaborate against terrorism

The administration of Nicolás Maduro rejected the inclusion in the list of countries that make little effort in the fight against terrorism. According to the Venezuelan government, the US anti-terrorist fight is “an intentional fraud that has cost humanity close to 4.5 million deaths and losses of around $8 billion.”

The United States Department of State maintained, for the third consecutive year, Venezuela in its country list who do not cooperate fully in the fight against terrorism.

The list was published in the federal register and signed by Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. In the case of Cuba, Syria, Iran and North Korea are classified as “State sponsors of terrorism”.

According to the laws of that country, the US cannot export or offer defense articles or services to the countries that are included in this registry.

Hours later, the administration of Nicolás Maduro rejected, through a statement, the inclusion in the list of the United States as a country that makes little effort in the fight against terrorism.

In the letter, released by Foreign Minister Yván Gilit was ensured that the country “year after year” complies with its national and international obligations to combat terrorism, and its inclusion on said list was also described as “immoral questioning”.

According to the Venezuelan government, the US fight against terrorism is “an intentional fraud that has cost humanity close to 4.5 million deaths and losses of around $8 billion.”

“The use of coercion as a foreign policy, regardless of the impact of its measures on human lives, constitutes in itself a true form of terrorism. A third of the planet today suffers from the economic, political and financial terrorism of the United States,” the statement said.

The Maduro administration asked the United States to respect international law and return “to the practice of diplomacy” to stabilize world peace.
