According to the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City, it was a direct attack against the man, whose identity has not been revealed.
The authority indicated that agents arrived at the area of the attack and after observing the man with visible blood stains, they requested emergency services. However, by the time paramedics arrived at the scene, he had already lost his life due to a gunshot wound to the head.
According to the first reports, two subjects approached the table where the victim was and, directly, fired several shots, and later fled the scene.
Restaurant staff reported that the murdered person was accompanied by two men and a woman, who fled the scene after the attack.
Mexico City authorities are already searching for those responsible for the armed attack.
U.S. citizens should use caution and avoid the area if possible, the U.S. Embassy said.
