Some 800 Nicaraguans have benefited from USA under the new immigration programhumanitarian parole», this will allow the regular entry by air of 30 thousand citizens of Nicaragua, Cuba and Haiti. The data was obtained by the CNN news network and disclosed on its website.
The Nicaraguans who were authorized to travel to the North American country join the almost 2,000 Haitians and more than 4,700 Cubans. All these groups of nationals of said countries, upon being benefited, have 90 days to buy an air ticket and start their trip to the United States. More than 210,000 Nicaraguans entered the United States irregularly in 2022.

The program was announced by the administration of President Joe Biden on January 5. The objective is to reduce irregular crossings on the southern border of that country. According to CNN“data indicates that migrants are using the program to migrate to the US rather than illegally cross the border into Mexico.”
The humanitarian parole was appealed before the Court by 20 states. The lawsuit alleges that the US government did not go through the notice and comment process of the regulation before instituting such a program. The request is that the program be blocked.
Recently, the United States ambassador to Nicaragua, Kevin Sullivan, assured that with the new program the Nicaraguan migrants they no longer have to undertake “long, expensive and dangerous journeys” to enter US territory irregularly.
“It no longer makes sense to undertake a dangerous journey or cross our border illegally,” Sullivan insisted, through a video posted on the channel of Youtube from Washington’s diplomatic headquarters in Managua.
This process allows the beneficiaries to stay for up to two years in North American territory, but the person who is outside the United States cannot request it, but must have a sponsor. The latter must also contribute and cooperate with a series of conditions to be accepted into the migration program.
