After several years without offering consular services on a regular basis, the United States Embassy in Cuba reopened its doors at the beginning of this year for immigrant visa interviews, the final step in the family claim process.
During fiscal year 2022, the US government delivered more than 20,000 visas to Cuban immigrants, thus fulfilling one of the current agreements on immigration between Washington and Havana.
At the moment, the diplomatic headquarters will only attend immigrant visa interviews, so Cubans living on the Island who wish to apply for a tourist or other type of visa must carry out the process at the US Embassy. UU. in a third country.
