In what constitutes a new aggression, the US government unilaterally suspended the return of Venezuelan migrants that was scheduled for December 12 to Venezuela.
The information was issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Justice and Peace through its Telegram channel, in which it describes that this measure contradicts Washington’s official discourse regarding the situation of migrants in US territory.
These actions leave relatives of the compatriots who were waiting for the next reunion in uncertainty.
“The suspension interrupts a process that had been carried out in a coordinated manner and that represented a way to alleviate the situation of Venezuelans detained and persecuted on US soil.”
Faced with this unexpected and contradictory decision, Venezuela trusts that the US will rectify and restart the repatriation process, as well as reiterating its willingness to receive its citizens, guaranteeing accompaniment and support in their reintegration.
