The United States launched a new military attack on a boat in the Caribbean waters that, according to President Donald Trump, transported illegal narcotics and was operated by Venezuelan narcoterrorists, an action that caused the death of three people on board.
For his part, the Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, said at a press conference in Caracas that “it is not a tension, it is an aggression on the entire line, it is a judicial aggression when they criminalize us, it is a political aggression with its threatening statements daily, it is a diplomatic aggression and it is an aggression on the path of a military nature.”
“We have evidence. Just look at the cargo. He spread on the ocean: cocaine and fentanyl everywhere. We have everything recorded very carefully, because we knew you would chase us. We are very careful with the military,” Trump told journalists at a press conference, he reported The country.
Second attack in the Caribbean
This Monday morning, following the orders of President Trump, the United States Military Forces executed a second attack against violent drug trafficking cartels operating in the Caribbean, the president himself reported on his social Truth network.
A video broadcast by the Republican president shows how a large boat is destroyed after an explosion, with at least one person visible on the boat before the attack.
According to Trump, the event, which described as “attack”, “resulted in the death of three male terrorists in combat”, while “no member of the US armed forces was injured.”
The new blow adds to the registered on September 2, when the US naval and aerial forces killed another moving boat, in which 11 alleged narcoterrorists perished.
Trump warned that they will continue hunting those who try to transport illegal drugs from the region to the United States, with an unprecedented deployment of eight military ships in the Caribbean for this mission.
This weekend, in addition, five United States F-35 combat aircraft arrived at the CEIBA Base, in the northwest of Puerto Rico, to which a Boeing C-5 aircraft was added, according to local reports.

Maduro denounces aggression and announces military defense
“There is an aggression on the way, of a military nature, and Venezuela is prepared to defend itself,” Maduro said at a press conference in Caracas, in which he detailed the deployment of at least 25 thousand members of the armed force in border states with Colombia and in the Caribbean area, along with a military operation of “resistance” with 2.5 million troops distributed in 284 battle fronts throughout the country.
Maduro denounced that communications with the United States are “undone” because of government threats, maintaining only a “basic thread” to discuss issues such as the release of retained immigrants and children.
Context and questions
The Venezuelan government has denied any link with drug trafficking and ensures that the country is free of illicit and narcocultive crops. During 2025, Caracas reports to have seized 56 tons of drugs.
The recent military operations in the Caribbean, covered by drug trafficking, have been questioned by US senators and political minorities, who denounce the possible illegality of these actions and the use of the army for police purposes.
More than 20 Democratic senators, led by Tim Kaine, sent a letter to the White House pointing out that there was no “legitimate legal justification” for the use of military power and that Congress did not authorize those operations.
For his part, the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, described the drug cartels, and President Maduro himself, as a direct threat to the national security of the United States and reiterated Washington’s commitment to “use all the elements of American power to hit cartels that attack our country.”

Increasing tensions and risk of conflict
The deployment of F-35 airplanes in Puerto Rico and the presence of a large naval patrol group in the region demonstrate an escalation of US military operations in response to the alleged threat of drug trafficking from Venezuela.
Maduro warned that Venezuela will face any attempt to destabilize, remembering the consequences of previous military interventions in countries such as Libya and Syria, and reaffirming that the United States will not achieve its objectives to control Venezuelan resources.
“We will not allow our oil, gas, iron and gold to be stolen,” emphasized the president, qualifying attacks such as “alevosous crimes” that apply the death penalty without any judicial process.
On Saturday Caracas denounced that an American destroyer had intercepted a Venezuelan boat, where nine fishermen were in the exclusive economic zone of the country, duly authorized to capture tuna.
Given these facts, the Government ordered the mobilization of ships, the enlistment of militiamen and a special reinforcement of the military presence in five coastal regions of the country.
