The National University of San Luis (UNSL) signed an interprovincial agreement with the organization Cannabis Medicinal Origen San Juan (Canme) to exchange scientific and technological knowledge with “institutional guarantee”, reported academic sources.
The rector of the UNSL, Victor Moriñigo, expressed during the signing that was carried out virtually that cannabis applied to medicine “It has been generating public agenda for a long time” and welcomed the possibility that the University establishes an agreement with other institutions.
“When this issue explodes at a social level, we are going to have to face it based on the good practices that are needed in a social situation where we will be the guarantors”, assured the rector.

In addition, Moriñigo argued that it is good that this issue “is in public hands” so that it has “the seriousness that it needs” and clarified that for the UNSL “these links are important because we realized long ago that this path is not We can walk alone.”
Roberto Correa, president of Canme San Juan, which is a state company, because it manages public resources for its developments, agreed with Moriñigo’s statements and considered that the agreement should help solve a medical situation of “patients seeking to improve their quality of life”.

In this sense, Correa added that for this to be the case, “it is important that the States take care of, have and can weave these ties with Universities that allow technologies to be at the service of the population and not at the service of interests.”
Canme San Juan is an organization that projects itself as a technological scientific pole, based on compliance with the national laws that govern the matter and the work of specialized professionals who guard the traceability of the processes and quality of the final products.
It works in conjunction with private and public organizations, such as INTA, INTI, Universities and the Ministry of Productive Development, among others.
