The United States returns more than a hundred illegal Cuban migrants

Both returns took place through the Orozco port, in the western province of Artemisa, and were carried out in accordance with internationally established health protocols, adds the media. The travellers, intercepted on the high seas when trying to arrive illegally at USAwere residents of Havana, Artemisa, Matanzas, Villa Clara and Granma.

According to the information, a Coast Guard service plane alerted last Sunday about the sighting of a rustic boat about 10 miles southwest of Cayo Elbow, Bahamasin which said migrants were travelling.

The note adds that since October 1, 2021, the crews of the US Coast Guard intercepted 2,146 Cubans, a figure notably higher than those reported in the fiscal years of 2020 (49 migrants) and 2021 (838) marked by the coronavirus pandemic. .
