The Supreme Electoral Court will not issue preliminary results of the vote at the end of election day and due to the complexity of the process, these data will be known within the time established by Law 026 of the Electoral Regime, member Tahuichi Tahuichi told EL DEBER.

“We are not required by law to present preliminary results. The law requires us to present official results and gives us seven days to do that work, we are only going to comply with the law,” he explained.

He added that the interest before the TCP mutilates the judicial ones was to have companies that carry out the quick count and that is why he called on specialized companies and the media to register to do the counting at the exit, however “No company registered nor did any media have the interest to do so at the exit.”.

The authority also indicated that after the TCP ruling, the technology unit carried out a study that determined that “there is an enormous risk” and it is not possible to implement the preliminary results due to the fragmented form of the elections.

However, he assured that the counting of votes will be public and the Plenary Chamber will work by time and matter.
