The Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) announced that if the new “official” population data from the next census arrives in December seats can no longer be allocated nor delimit the new constituencies for the 2025 national elections.

“The TSE needs to have the official census data, we are not talking about whether they are preliminary or final; official census data. We must receive this information with due opportunity. If we receive it in the month of December (2024) it is already extemporaneous; it will no longer be possible to carry out that previous work; those two previous tasks: allocation of seats and delimitation of constituencies”, Hassenteufel sentenced.
