The tourist destinations preferred by foreigners arriving in Colombia continue to show a clear trend: Bogotá, Antioquia and Bolívar remain the epicenters of international tourism. This is confirmed by the most recent figures provided by the Ministry of Commerce, which reveal which are the territories with the greatest reception of non-resident visitors.

According to official data, Bogotá continues in first place with 38.5% of foreign tourists. The country’s capital, with its cultural, gastronomic and business offering, continues to be the main point of entry and stay for travelers from various international destinations.

In second place is Antioquia, which received 26.9% of the visitors. The department, with Medellín as its greatest attraction, has strengthened its image as an innovative, connected and vibrant city, which has allowed it to consolidate itself as one of the favorite destinations on the continent.

Bolívar occupies third position with 16.7% of foreign tourists, driven especially by Cartagena and its renowned historical, heritage and beach offering. Its international projection continues to rise thanks to the increase in air routes and world-class events.

Together, these three destinations concentrate the largest international tourist activity in the country, reflecting the dynamics and growth of the sector. The arrival of visitors has contributed to strengthening the economy and the tourist chain in hotels, restaurants, transportation and local commerce.

“The behavior of these figures reaffirms international confidence in Colombia and consolidates the country as one of the most attractive and best connected destinations in Latin America,” said the Commerce portfolio, highlighting that the results are the result of work between the Government, regions and businessmen to enhance tourism competitiveness.
