“Colombia and Venezuela are taking accurate steps towards union, liberation, peace and shared development.”
This was stated by the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, when balancing the consolidation of the Binational Peace Zone No. 3, between the Amazonas state and the Colombian departments of Vichada and Guainía during their weekly program.
In the company of the governors of the states Zulia, Luis Caldera and Amazonas, Miguel Rodríguez, Maduro emphasized that the three binational zones included in: Zone No. 1 that cover the Zulia and Táchira states; Zone No. 2 contemplated by the Apure State and Zone No. 3 covered by the Amazonas state.
The dignitary said that the goal of work with Colombia is to achieve a binational zone of peace, free of coca cultivation of the Colombian side, specifically in the Catatumbo. He reiterated that Zulia and Táchira states are drug -free territories and criminal gangs that threaten the peace and tranquility of the people. “Colombia and Venezuela ever and can ever have a fight and less a military conflict.”
The Governor of the State of Amazonas, Miguel Rodríguez, reported that the first Orinoco Binational Forum to promote cooperation, culture and development at the border took place on September 24 in the Colombian department. He indicated that the governors of Vichada, Fulberto Guevara and Guainía, Arnulfo Rivera attended, as well as the ambassadors Milton Rengifo (Colombia) and Carlos Martínez (Venezuela).
The governor of Zulia, Luis Caldera said that the border security has been achieved, “on October 12, the first binational hospital in the Peace Zone No. 1” will be inaugurated.
