The three Chilean finalists for the commemorative banknote have been revealed!

At the end of March, the Chilean Mint launched its “Valuable Women” project with the aim of choosing a woman’s face to create a commemorative banknote in commemoration of the institution’s 280th anniversary. After a citizen consultation, nine Chilean women were selected as possible candidates.

However, just a month after voting began, only three finalists have remained in the running: Eloísa Díaz, Violeta Parra and Margot Duhalde.

Eloisa Diaz was the first female medical student and doctor in Chile, while purple vine She was a renowned artist, musician, composer, compiler, embroiderer and singer who spread Chilean popular music. “Everyone is invited to choose one of the three finalists who have inspired Chilean women to make their way in the most diverse fields. The winner will be portrayed in a Commemorative Print so that her contribution to the country is reflected forever,” they announced from Exchange house.

Each of these women has left an impressive legacy in the history of Chile, and that is why they have become the finalists for this commemorative project.
