Senator Juan Carlos Galaverna affirmed that the shortlists for the TSJE should not be rejected and asked his colleagues who demand a balance to “take off their masks”, alleging that the third space is only a “rhetorical and flawed resource”.
“Let’s stop talking about balance in the TSJE. Balance is that the Colorado Party has only one representative while the opposition has two? Because here it is a rhetorical and failing resource about the third space. The electoral reality of our country is the Colorado Party vs the rest of the parties”, he asserted in communication with Radio Ñanduti.
Likewise, he questioned what is intended to be achieved with the supposed balance sought, if you want to achieve representation by Party or representation by suitability. “Because, unfortunately, ensuring both is very difficult, if not impossible,” he said.
The legislator also emphasized that it should not be forgotten that unfortunately all regulations end up depending on gathering 23 votes in the Senate.
“I believe that the shortlists should not be rejected, the process was closely watched. The shortlist was put together, what corresponds is that the Senate determines and sends it to the Executive. The double talk is truly unfortunate,” she criticized.
