The Prosecutor’s Office accused a man of attempted femicide that occurred in Natalio and required preventive detention of the defendant.
The tax agent Fidel Walter Castro, from Criminal Unit No. 2, Zonal de María Auxiliadora, filed charges against Antonio Villalba Aranda, for the alleged commission of the punishable act of Feminicide in the Attempted Degree. The man is accused of having attacked his ex-partner, who received several bullet wounds. The episode was recorded in the District of Natalia of the Department of Itapúa.
The fiscal representation considers that there are sufficient elements of suspicion that involve Antonio Villalba Aranda as the perpetrator of the act, for which reason, as a precautionary measure, the preventive detention of the same was required.
According to the complaint, on March 4, 2023, at approximately 8:30 p.m., police officers from Police Station No. 90 of Puerto Triunfo, Natalio District, were alerted to an act of gun shots through an (anonymous) phone call, which resulted in victim Carmen Serbían Ferreiraaccusing Antonio Villalba Aranda (the woman’s former partner) of the alleged perpetrator. After the police summons, the victim was found in a room, lying on the bed with injuries apparently caused by gunshots.

Later she was helped by Volunteer Firefighters, who transferred her to the Natalio District Hospital for medical assistance. There she was inspected and it was found that the victim received 5 bullet wounds, 2 of them in the lower back and 3 holes in the abdomen.
Finally, she was referred to the Regional Hospital of Encarnación, where has a guarded prognosiswhile the alleged perpetrator is being held at the Headquarters of Commissioner No. 16 of María Auxiliadora.
