The theme of the Summit continues to await

The issue of invitations to the IX Summit of the Americas is still pending, and it is that a spokesman for the US government, Christopher Dodd, told the president of Mexico in a meeting that he would give the answer yesterday as to whether Venezuela will finally be invited, Cuba and Nicaragua.

International media report that a US diplomat declared that Biden is studying inviting a representative from Cuba to attend the presidents’ forum scheduled for June in Los Angeles, California.

The State Department spokesman, Ned Price, said that the United States has begun to send invitations to the Summit of the Americas but does not rule out expanding the list of guests for the event, Union Radio reports.

The spokesman confirmed that the first messages began to be sent on Thursday, but did not say to which countries they have been sent so far and clarified that the final list will not be made public “until all the invitations have been sent.”

Bolivia, Honduras, Argentina, Chile and Mexico are some of the nations that will not attend the event if the veto on Cuba and Venezuela is maintained.
