The Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII) urged owners of motor vehicles to pay on time the Vehicle Traffic Tax (tag) and take advantage of the option to renew online.
This, to avoid agglomerations due to the reappearance of covid-19 cases, reported by health authorities. Via the page www.dgii.gov.do the label can be acquired until January 16, 2022 and received at the address indicated by the user.
The DGII warned that there will be no extension in the renewal deadlines of January 16, to acquire it online, and January 31 for payment through authorized financial institutions.
For the 2021-2022 season, they are able to renew 1,550,776 vehicles with an estimated collection of RD $ 2,381,773,600. By noon on Monday, 698,714 tags had been renewed for a collection of RD $ 1,169,791,500.
The values of the label remain unchanged in relation to the previous period. The payments are these: RD $ 1,500.00 for vehicles manufactured until 2016 and RD $ 3,000 for vehicles manufactured from year 2017, inclusive, onwards. 30 financial entities with 720 branches throughout the country are available for renewal; as well as in the municipal offices of the DGII of Villa Vásquez, Montecristi province and Sánchez, Samaná province.
The DGII recalls that in order to carry out the process in the available entities, as well as to receive orders via the web, it is essential to have a legible and in good condition photocopy of the license plate of the vehicle to be renewed. The amounts corresponding to the penalties (surcharge) for non-renewal are maintained during the established period. They are RD $ 2,000 to vehicles that do not renew before January 31, 2022, RD $ 2,100 to vehicles that did not renew in 2020-2021 and RD $ 3,100 for those not renewed in 2019-2020 and previous years.
