Early this Wednesday, a total of 48,000 pediatric doses arrived in the country, which are intended to expand the vaccination strategy in schools.
The authorities of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reiterate that starting next Monday, March 14, the school vaccination program will be resumed in all educational centers in the country by the Ministry of Health, which for this year will include vaccination against Covid-19 and vaccines from the scheme contemplated by the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), such as measles, tetanus, against the human papillomavirus, among others.
At the same time, they mention that the vaccines are safe and effective, the application of the dose against Covid-19 will be carried out with the prior authorization of the parent.
The school vaccination program is supported by the Minsa Immunization Program and in which nursing teams from both the Ministry of Health and the Social Security Fund (CSS) participate.
In the provinces, national and regional hospitals, as well as health centers and polyclinics, function as vaccination points for children between 5 and 11 years of age.
The national pediatric dose vaccinometer reflects a coverage of 38.9%. The population between 5 and 11 years old and the target population to be vaccinated is 515,487 people.
The authorities reiterate the call for parents to take their children to be vaccinated at the Operation PanavaC-19 vaccination posts. It is recommended that children wear comfortable clothing; breakfasted and with the vaccination card or juvenile identity card.
