This was stated to EL ECO by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Remo Monzeglio, with whom we contacted to do an interview and find out some details about the current situation of the former Casino Carmelo hotel, which, today, is very deteriorated.
Monzeglio was kind enough to reply to our message and pointed it out: “I appreciate the invitation, but I am not giving notes on the subject, the specifications for the Carmelo tender have already gone to an instance where, obligatorily, a commission is formed, exclusively technique, where I do not participate. It is made up of representatives of the Municipality of Colonia, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Economy and OPP. After this work, this document goes through the respective agencies, goes to the signature of the Minister of Tourism and the Minister of Economy and finally goes to the Presidency for final approval.
