The telephone company that separated from Huawei to circumvent the restrictions of the United States landed in Uruguay

Two years ago, the smartphone brand hhonor —which until then was a sub-brand of Huawei— Became independent of the Chinese telecommunications giant as a result of the sanctions imposed by the United States.

So the brand that was positioned as emerging with 70 million units sold per year, re-emerged as a technology company that includes smartphones, smartwatches and laptops in its catalog

In 2021, honor started its operations in America Latina, establishing itself in eight markets in the region. And in 2022 The company set out to continue growing, thus being able to reach twelve countries, among which is ORruguay.

This is why last Thursday —hand in hand with Antel— hOnor made his landing in the country official with the aim of introducing creativity in the technology industryas he told C.afe &Nbusiness Honor’s director of public relations, María García.

The brand entered the Uruguayan market with three productstwo from the X Series category: Honor X6s, and Honor X8, and one from the high-end N Series category: Honor 70.

As Garcia said, hhonor 70 was the sensation of the brand presentation meeting. And the reason —for the director of public relations— is that the smartphone has design and technology characteristics that make it an important competitor for the category.

“We have had a refinement of the product strategy, which takes us from the general to the particular, focusing on the user”, affirmed García, and by the way he said that Honor wants that users find “an ally” on their devices: that work according to your lifestyle.

In addition, the brand came with the vision of creating new channels of fluid communication between the products, so that the user can achieve interconnectivity.

In this sense, García highlighted that since the revival of Honor, the brand already has 13,000 employees, and 60% are part of the research team.

To conclude, the director of public relations stated that your expectations in ORruguay are on par with the growth story that he had Honor since the year 2020; which adds more than 100 laboratories, and around 300 own patents.
