The national news agency Télam won this Monday the Martín Fierro award for Native Digital Communication in the category Best International Digital Transcendence.
The award ceremony, given by the Association of Argentine Television and Radio Journalists (Aptra), was held at the Sasso hotel in the city of Mar del Plata, where the award ceremony took place.
The Télam portal, with high impact thanks to coverage such as the Qatar 2020 World Cup and the interview with Pope Francis, the first that the Supreme Pontiff gave to an Argentine medium, which was published on July 1, 2022, competed in its field with the TyC Sports and Infobae websites.
With a monthly average of 2.5 million users and 7.6 million visits, Télam offers – in addition to all the latest news – a series of special productions on the 45th anniversary of the Mothers and Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo, the assumption of Lula in Brazil, the photos recovered from Malvinas and the invasion of Ukraine, among other topics.

The new awards for Digital Native Communication, which join the gallery of awards promoted by the Association of Argentine Television and Radio Journalists (Aptra), arose from an agreement between the entity’s president, Luis Ventura, and the head of the gastronomy guild, Luis Barrionuevo.
“The industry is changing, the tools, the technology marks new formats for you (…) You have to adapt. We even put those who had discarded the digital world in check and are going to have to incorporate it into their work,” Ventura said in Silver Sea.
