The head of the Argentine Chamber of Chinese Supermarkets, Yolanda Durán, affirmed this Wednesday that the sector “will monitor” compliance with the basket of 60 products for local businesses, which she described as “a very good measure.”
In statements made to Radio Provincia, the representative of the Chinese supermarket chamber said that they have already received the lists “with the sale and purchase prices” and that they gradually began to obtain “some products” that make up the basket.
“This is a very good measure because it is a price reference. Before we didn’t know if we were buying or selling right or wrong. Now our customers will have the 60 most essential products with a certain price and matched nationwide”, he narrowed down.
Durán affirmed that merchants are free to join the program, but that in their sector they assume it as “a contribution from local markets for the Nation.”
“We don’t want to have inflation, it’s stressful and so we don’t have predictability to invest our money,” he emphasized.
“The Care Prices contain products from top brands”, he stated and stressed that “The second brands are going to have to lower their prices to be able to sell”.
“Now they have to tune down, not up,” Durán warned and said that “The auditors themselves are going to be ourselves because we want to sell”.
