The sun is over the Dominican Republic and, for the second time, the zenith sun is recorded, when our star is located directly in the center of the sky (at the zenith), which causes a moment without shadows.
This was reported by the meteorological analyst Jean Suriel through his account on the social network X, where he indicated that we are halfway between the summer solstice and the autumn equinox, a period of the year in which the sun transits from the northern hemisphere towards the equator, due to the tilt of the Earth’s axis.
“It is the ideal time to carry out the experiment with vertical objects (bottles, garbage cans or boxes) to see how the sun illuminates them to the point of not reflecting shadows around them,” wrote Suriel.
He also shared the date and time when this phenomenon can be observed from each province in the country:
