The Stars take over the top and the Licey triumphed

The greens achieved their third victory in a row; Tigers top Eagles in 11 innings

Vidal Bruján hit a double in the 11th inning to break a tie and thus lead the Tigres del Licey to a 6-3 victory against the Águilas Cibaeñas in a match held at the Cibao Stadium in Santiago. The victory allows the Tigers to tie for second place in the Round Robin with the Eagles, both with a 2-2 record. The top has the Estrellas Orientales as owners with a 3-1 record after beating the Gigantes del Cibao (1-3) with a score of 4-2.

Both teams had not scored runs since the fourth inning, when in episode number 11 the Blues scored three. Vidal started the party with the return of the advantage product of a double, while Jorge Bonifacio contributed two more runs with a single.

The semifinal series takes a break due to the Noche Buena festivities and will resume on Tuesday the 27th when the Stars travel to Santiago to face the Águilas Cibaeñas at the Cibao Stadium starting at 7:30 p.m., while the Tigres welcome the Giants at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium at 7:15 p.m.

The win went to reliever Jonathan Aro (1-0), while the loss fell to Tommy Eveld (0-1). The save was credited to Jairo Asencio, his first in the semifinal series.

In San Pedro de Macorís, the Estrellas Orientales achieved their third victory in a row by beating the Gigantes del Cibao 4-2 in a match held at the Tetelo Vargas Stadium.

In the game, Lewin Díaz homered for the second night in a row. With the game tied at two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, the team from the green banner took control of the game by taking advantage of a double error by the Giants, which helped Junior Lake to score the go-ahead run.

With the victory, the Stars remain in first position, with a 3-1 record. They came from defeating, precisely, the Giants 10-5 last Wednesday night at the Julián Javier Stadium in San Francisco de Macorís.

The victory went to reliever Gerson Bautista (1-0), who pitched the eighth inning without any trouble.

The defeat corresponded to Luis Perdomo (0-1) after accepting the two runs of the advantage of the Stars in the eighth episode. The save was credited to him by Ronel Blanco, the first of All Against All.
