Given the threats of the next president of the United States, Donald Trump, to carry out mass deportations, starting in January the Mexican government will enable an emergency button so that countrymen at imminent risk of detention can notify the consulate closest to their location.
This tool is part of the actions with which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) seeks to defend the 4.8 million undocumented Mexicans living in the United States, through the 53 consulates in that country, reported yesterday the head of the agency, Juan Ramón. de la Fuente, in the morning conference of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
He said that there is also a call center for complaints and that 329 new legal advisors were hired in labor, civil, criminal, immigration and administrative matters to protect compatriots.
