The Spanish Alexia Putellas is crowned as the best soccer player in the world

The DT who led Argentina to win the Qatar-2022 World Cup, Lionel Scaloni, was rewarded with The Best award for best coach of 2022 at a gala organized by FIFA this Monday in Paris.

The award comes just a few hours after the Argentine Football Association (AFA) announced the renewal of Scaloni as coach of the Albiceleste until 2026.

Scaloni thanked “the 26 players who led us to glory” in Qatar, where Argentina won its third World Cup, and also had a memory for his coaching staff, the AFA leaders and his family.

“There is nothing more beautiful than seeing your people happy, your country, seeing those people excited, enjoying themselves, it is priceless, that victory is for them,” declared the DT upon collecting his award from the former Milan coach and Real Madrid, among others, Fabio Capello.

In the votes, Scaloni surpassed the Italian Carlo Ancelottichampion of the Champions League with Real Madrid, and the Spanish Pep Guardiolawinner of the Premier League with Manchester City.

Argentine soccer could win these prizes, since Emiliano ‘Dibu’ Martinez won the award for best goalkeeper of the year and Lionel Messi is the main favorite to win the award for the best player of 2022.
