The National Police lamented the murder of a 21-year-old young man in a violent incident that occurred this Sunday in the Restrepo neighborhood, in the town of Rafael Uribe Uribe, south of Bogotá.
According to the commander of the Bogotá Metropolitan Police, General Daniel Gualdrón, The attack occurred around 11:30 in the morning and left three more people injuredwho are receiving medical care at a nearby hospital.
The murdered young man was the son of the inspector general of the National Police, General William Rincónwhich has generated commotion both within the institution and among the citizens. This fact, described by the authorities as “an investigative priority”, is being investigated by a specialized team from the Attorney General’s Office, which took on the case with the support of the National Police.

“The National Police stands in solidarity with the young man’s family and deeply regrets these tragic events that mourn not only the institution but the entire country. The Attorney General’s Office, together with a prominent team from the vigil, is working to determine the circumstances that surrounded the crime,” said General Gualdrón.
The attack occurred in an area known for having high commercial and residential activity, increasing concerns about security in the south of Bogotá. According to the first hypotheses, the authorities do not rule out any line of investigation, and hope that the evidence collected during the technical inspection carried out by the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) of the Prosecutor’s Office will provide key clues to identify those responsible.
