The National Union of Education Workers (SNTE) announced new actions to generate safe environments and peaceful coexistence, inside and outside of schools.
The Morenoist senator and leader of that union, Alfonso Cepeda Salas, reported that, together with the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch, a campaign is being prepared to meet the demands of the school community.
“We agreed to integrate a commission of the SNTE and a public security commission to put together an orientation and information campaign for education workers, to know what to do when we are subject to an extortion attempt or when in schools, (because) in the states the situation is very difficult and they hear gunshots, what protocol to follow, how to manage the group so that the students are protected,” he indicated.
Cepeda Salas added that they also seek to resolve the problem of bullyingmainly in middle and high schools, where, he assured, “there have been cases of attacks, even against teachers. If a teacher dares to fail a student, he threatens him and complies. He goes and destroys his vehicle or physically attacks him.”
In addition, he said, it is intended to establish a direct telephone line to report any risk situation on campuses.
