The smoke caused by the grass fires on the islands of the Paraná River delta began to affect visibility in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA) and the northeast of the Buenos Aires territory, while the National Meteorological Service (SMN) warned that this situation may extend through the weekend if the fires continue.
The SMN recommended avoiding outdoor activities; protect the respiratory tract and eyes; drive slowly, keep your distance and use low beams in vehicles.
The meteorological agency reported this Friday through its website that 20 meteorological stations in different Argentine provinces registered smoke, burning brush or forests in the country.
During the morning of Friday, the atmosphere was moderately to highly cloudy in the southwest and south of Entre Ríos, northeast of Buenos Aires and slightly cloudy due to the presence of smoke in the west, center and south of Corrientes, north and northeast of Entre Rivers.
On Saturday, the atmosphere is expected to be moderately to highly cloudy in the southwest, south of Entre Ríos, southeast of Santa Fe, and northeast of Buenos Aires.
It is also expected to be slightly to moderately cloudy due to the presence of smoke in the south, center of Tucumán, north, center, east, south of Santa Fe, northeast, north and center-northeast of Buenos Aires, southeast of Entre Ríos; and slightly cloudy due to the presence of smoke in the center-north of Salta, center, north of Formosa, east and southeast of Chaco, northeast, center, southeast, west of Corrientes, east, southeast, center-west of Santiago del Estero, center of Catamarca, east, southeast and center-southwest of Córdoba, west, southwest of Buenos Aires, north and northeast of La Pampa, center-southwest of Mendoza, northeast of Río Negro.
On Saturday morning, the 20th, the atmosphere is expected to be slightly to moderately cloudy due to the presence of smoke in the southwest, south of Entre Ríos, southeast (it could reach Rosario, Arroyo Seco, Villa Constitución and surrounding cities) of Santa Fe , northeast (it could reach San Nicolás, Ramallo, San Pedro, Baradero, Zárate, Campana and surrounding cities, AMBA zone), north, north-central, north-central, central, south-central, east and south-east of Buenos Aires.
And the slightly cloudy atmosphere due to the presence of smoke is expected in the center and south of Tucumán, southeast of Santiago del Estero, northeast and east of Córdoba, north, center, south of Santa Fe, north, center of Entre Ríos.
The evolution in the coming days will be strongly conditioned to the quantity and permanence of the local fire sources.
