The SMN warned that almost half of the country remains under meteorological alert

This Thursday, the NMS (National Metereological Service) issued a weather alert in much of the country due to rain and storms, which will mainly affect 13 provinces.

As detailed the organismthere are yellow alerts for storms and hail in Corrientes, Córdoba, Santa Fe, Entre Ríos, Santiago del Estero, Misiones, Chaco and Formosa, so the NMS It is recommended to avoid outdoor activities.

The rains will be accompanied by gusts of wind.

In addition, the NMS warned that winds with gusts of more than 85 kilometers per hour are expected in the Catamarca, Salta and Jujuy mountains. While, in the center and south of Misiones, the province of Corrientes, the north and center of Entre Ríos and most of Santa Fe there will be strong storms.

Likewise, the northeast of Córdoba, in the town of San Justo, and the south of Santiago del Estero in Aguirre, Avellaneda, Belgrano, General Taboada, Juan Felipe Ibarra, Mitre, Quebrachos, Rivadavia, Salavina and Sarmiento remain under alert.

Meanwhile, in Formosa, storms are expected in the provincial capital and in the towns of Laishí, Pilagás, Pilcomayo and Pirané and, in Chaco, for the towns of Bermejo, General Donovan, Libertad, Primero de Mayo and San Fernando.

The agency detailed: “the area will be affected by isolated storms of varying intensity, some of which may be locally strong and will be accompanied by frequent electrical activity, occasional hail, abundant rainfall in short periods and intense gusts.”

Also, it recommends not taking out the garbage during rains or storms, removing objects that prevent water from draining through the pipes and keeping an emergency backpack ready with a flashlight, radio, documents and telephone.
