With the passing of the days the heat intensifies more and, with the end of the first week of January, the high temperatures arrived, for which the NMS (National Metereological Service) issued an orange alert for several provinces.
The organism warned that the thermometer will rise especially in Neuquén, the west of La Pampa and the north of Río Negro. Also, the NMS issued a yellow alert for the center and south of the country, including the Malvinas Islands.
As explained by the NMS The orange alert in Neuquén will specifically affect the Confluencia area, east of Añelo, east of Pehuenches and Picún Leufú, since temperatures close to 40°C are expected.
For its part, in La Pampa, the intense heat will be felt in the area of Chical Co and Puelén, where a record of almost 37°C is expected. Meanwhile, in Río Negro, places like El Cuy and the city of General Roca will have records of up to 38°C.
The agency explained that the orange level alert refers to temperatures “can be very dangerous to health”., especially in risk groups; that is, boys and girls, as well as those over 65 years of age.
With these groups, it is recommended to take special care, hydrate and bathe them frequently, not expose them to the sun for a long time and, in the hottest hours, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
From the NMS, specified that, due to the high temperatures, some cities could go through a heat wave: “high or extreme temperatures are expected, some cities may even have a heat wave if the requirements are met. Throughout the north, center and much of Patagonia there will be very high maximum temperatures.”

According to the forecasts of the meteorological entity, Mendoza and San Juan are under yellow alert for storms of varying intensity, which may be accompanied by gusts of wind. There can also be strong electrical activity and the occasional fall of hail.
The affected areas are: the mountain ranges of San Carlos and Tunuyán, in Mendoza, and Iglesia and Calingasta, in San Juan. Also the foothill areas of Luján de Cuyo and Las Heras, in Mendoza, and Calingasta, Pocito, Rivadavia, Sarmiento, Ullum and Zonda, in San Juan. Accumulated precipitation values between 20 and 35 millimeters are expected throughout the area.
