They also suggested “being vigilant and learning about the possible trail and area closures“.
From the Nahuel Huapi National Park they highlighted “taking into account the importance of avoiding outdoor activities, securing elements that can fly, do not take shelter under trees, poles or power linesd”.
They also remembered to consult the Argentine Naval Prefecture about the state of the ports and the navigation before sailing, and they asked “check vehicle condition: antifreeze, chains, lights, the height of the car and the way to go.
Finally, they stressed that “low temperatures and frosts leave large patches of ice that are not visible, but can be fatal,” so they asked “to be careful in places of shadow on the routes since they have black ice.”
In the event of a strong snowstorm, it is recommended “not to go out” and “be attentive to the closure of circuits, roads and paths due to the accumulation of snow.”
To go out to the mountain, it is mandatory to make the single trekking registration, at least 48 hours before, and check the forecast for possible weather alerts.
