In order to guarantee the enrollment and permanence of young people at the Baccalaureate level, the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) will prepare the General Law of Higher Education. To do this, a national consultation will be carried out through six regional forums during February and March in different higher education institutions in the country.
In the Ibero -American Hall of the SEP, Secretary Mario Delgado Carillo presented yesterday the start of the National Forum for the launch of the consultation strategy for the construction of the draft of the General Law of Higher Education.
He argued that with a new legal framework the comprehensive normative structure will be consolidated and will establish a profile to prepare young people for the challenges of the 21st century.
He highlighted the collaboration of the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education, for the update of curricula in accordance with labor and academic demands.
The law, he mentioned, must include different pedagogical modalities with the purpose of diversifying and expanding learning opportunities: school, non -school and mixed, in addition to specific options such as face -to -face, online, open and dual.
Meanwhile, the Undersecretary of Higher Education, Tania Rodríguez, said that this law must answer three key issues: What should we teach, how are we going to teach and how (universities and baccalaureate) we will agree
.
For the consultation there are six scheduled forums: the first will be next day 20 in Tijuana, at the Autonomous University of Baja California; on the 27th, at the Technological Institute of Morelia, Michoacán; on March 3, at the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico City; on March 6 at the Technological Institute of Mérida, Yucatán; March 10 will be in Toluca, at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico; On March 12, at the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí.
