The Senate held its 2022 preparatory session in which it elected the authorities of the Upper House for the regular session that starts next Tuesday, while it set days and times for the parliamentary plenary sessions, in a brief ten-minute meeting led by Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
Claudia Ledesma Abdala de Zamora, official from Santiago, was ratified as the provisional presidency of the body.while Carolina Losada, an opponent from Santa Fe, was elected vice president, and Fernández de Kirchner had to take the oath for that position.
While, missionary Maurice Closs was retained as first vice president, from the Front of All; while Guadalupe Tagliaferri, from Together for Change, will continue as second vice president.
Previously, Fernández de Kirchner swore in José María Torello as the new senator for the province of Buenos Aireswho takes over to replace Esteban Bullrich, who at the end of last year submitted his resignation affected by Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
