The seditious Antauro Humala will be released by President Pedro Castillo

In an implicit commitment to violence, the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, decided to free the seditious and police murderer Antauro Humala Tasso. He would leave the prison where he is serving his sentence – for mourning four families – today or Monday.

The ethnocacerist sentenced to 19 years in prison for the ‘Andahuaylazo’ never forgot the promise that Pedro Castillo made to him in the campaign. The then candidate of Peru Libre promised that, as soon as he came to power, he would review the pardon for the disobedient ex-military “due to excessive imprisonment.”

As soon as the man now under investigation for corruption and criminal organization assumed the mandate, Antauro took it upon himself to remind the country –in August of last year– that “it is a concrete fact that the highest exponent of the State considers that my person, what I committed in Andahuaylas He is worthy of a pardon.”

Since then, the prisoner’s operators had rapprochements with the Castillo government. The best known was Virgilio Acuña, brother of the leader of the Alliance for Progress, César Acuña. Last Tuesday, the Antauro representative met with Pedro Castillo at the Government Palace. And on Thursday Virgilio Acuña went to the PCM to talk with Premier Aníbal Torres.

On August 13, Castillo received at the Palace the graduates of the Armed Forces, many of them sympathizers of antaurism.

Yesterday, the National Penitentiary Institute (INPE) announced that Humala has worked and studied 3,667 days, for which he is responsible for calculating the sentence reduction for 1 year and 7 months.

Aníbal Torres, in a recorded interview –in April of this year– for an Internet portal of the ethnocaceristas, pointed out that “by law, he cannot be pardoned. If we violate the law to favor Antauro, then we are going to be attacked more harshly and there would be a cause for presidential vacancy for violation of the Constitution”.

Humala is serving a sentence for the crimes of rebellion, simple homicide, theft or seizure of firearms and aggravated damage, and aggravated kidnapping, to the detriment of the State and four members of the National Police.

The agents assassinated by Humala in 2005 were named Carlos Cahuana Pacheco, Luis Chávez Vásquez, Ricardo Rivera Fernández and Abelardo Cerrón Carbajal.

THE VOICE OF THE VICTIMS

Adolfo Cahuana, father of the late Captain Carlos Cahuana, does not forget that he is a “delinquent, murderer, kidnapper, anti-democratic and public drug user.”

“They continue and will continue with that idea that they had years ago when they caused the deaths of these policemen, that all they did was make themselves available to democracy and, in the end, they were vilely assassinated,” he told Peru21 in 2020.

“My son was lying on the ground, clutching his pocket. Suddenly someone approached, threw something at him and there he stayed, ”says Cristina Fernández, mother of non-commissioned officer Ricardo Rivera Fernández, through tears.

For José Chávez, father of PNP Lieutenant Luis Chávez, “unfortunately, there are many Peruvians who are unaware of the reality of what happened in Peru, there is a lot of ignorance. I’m sorry about that,” he noted.
