The biggest week in the country begins and, with it, different sectors of the economy are reactivated. Thanks to national tourism there are several companies that will benefit from the movement of travelers.

This year Holy Week will go from Sunday April 10 through April 16.
HOTEL SECTOR
One of the sectors that will see its benefits the most will be those who offer lodging services in different cities of the country. An industry that was hit hard during the pandemic and went from 51.88% occupancy in 2019 to 1.78% in 2020.
By 2021, an occupancy of 38.88% was registered. For this Holy Week it is expected that the occupation will be between 47% to 54%.
Cotelco estimates also indicate that the total number of occupied rooms may exceed 17,700.
TRANSPORT SECTOR
In turn, the mobilization of travelers expects a significant recovery. In this sense, it is expected that until next April 17 the main road corridors of the country will register 8,326,792 payments at tolls82,438 more than in 2021 where 8,244,354 toll vehicles were counted.
Through the land terminals, the Government expects the mobilization of 2,658,493 passengers, 34% more than in the previous year, when 1,983,950 travelers were registered. In the air terminals, an increase of 681,877 travelers is also expected, a growth of 110% compared to 2021, that is, the goal is to mobilize 1,437,000 passengers.
Now, with a really important increase of more than 80,000 people, the Association for the Integral Development of Intermunicipal Land Transport, Aditt, hopes that this week it will be possible to reach pre-pandemic levels in intermunicipal mobility.

During Holy Week, a mobilization by air of nearly 1,437,000 passengers: 979,323 to national destinations and 456,572 to international destinations.
TOURISM SECTOR
Along with this, there are all the tourist services offered by the different cities in the country. The destination cities with the highest percentage of international arrivals for this season are Bogota, with 15,172 (60.0% of the national total); Cartagena and Medellín, with about 3,900 and 3,500 active reserves, respectively, according to figures from ForwardKeys, with analysis by ProColombia.
The analysis of international air reservations to Colombia for Holy Week showed that the 82.1% are for vacationsand 22.1% is for stays between 6 to 8 days.
Regarding the sites with the greatest reactivation, Anato considers that, in national tourism, they will be: San Andrés, Cartagena, Santa Marta, the Coffee Region, Antioquia and La Guajira; and tourism will be boosted in destinations with great potential such as Amazonas, Bahía Solano, Capurganá, Tolú and Coveñas, Huila, Nariño, Puerto Inírida, Popayán, Huila and Villa de Leyva.

For international destinations are positioned: United States, Mexico, Spain, Panama, Dominican Republic, Turkey, Peru and Argentina.
