Sánchez Mendoza has been the head of the Public Security Secretariat of Aguascalientes since 2018, under the administration of Governor Martín Orozco Sandoval, who will leave office this year.

Who is Porfirio Sachez Mendoza?
He trained professionally within the former Attorney General’s Office (PGR), and later joined the Intelligence Unit of the Federal Investigation Agency in 2007 and later the Federal Police, where he became director of undercover operations.
He worked in the Federal Police until 2014, when he was appointed head of the Federal Forces in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca.
Four years later, he joined the state cabinet of Aguascalientes, since Governor Martín Orozco Sandoval appointed him Secretary of Public Security of said entity.
Faced with the questioning of appointing Sánchez Mendoza, close to Genaro Garcia Lunathe president assured that he would help fight crime, mainly kidnappings among the business class.
