Within the framework of the extension of Fair Pricesthe Secretary of Commerce, led by Matías Tombolini, summoned businessmen to analyze and monitor the implementation of the program.
This given that the portfolio rigorously implements controls in the dealso that all companies adhering to Fair Prices comply with the agreement and thus guarantee greater price stability.
The meetings with the businessmen began last week and will continue over the next few days. These will also analyze a series of complaints that have been filed by wholesalers against failures in Fair Prices.
Through a statement, the Argentine Chamber of Wholesale Distributors and Self-Services (CADAM) warned that industrial entrepreneurs fail to comply with the guidelines established in the agreement.
“Our associates receive from the supplying industry changes in commercial conditions, lists of increases above the percentages stipulated by the Secretariat, removal of bonuses, change in payment terms, supply quotas (even more accentuated in medium-sized businesses and small and specific), etc.”, they indicated.
It should be remembered that, added to this, in recent weeks, the Ministry of Commerce has fined several companies for breaches of the program, and that it permanently carries out surveillance inspections mainly in supermarkets.
For this reason, the meetings that are held with the businessmen will be key to guarantee that what is agreed in the agreement is fulfilled. Meanwhile, companies are concerned about rising costs, which are above the agreed 3.2%, and the lack of access to imports.
Missing products: one of the biggest breaches
Among the inspections carried out by the Secretary of Commerce in affiliated supermarkets to the program, it is evident that one of the biggest problems in the implementation of the agreement is the lack of products.
Among the products with the greatest shortages are meat cuts, which were recently included in the program. In addition, they denounce the lack of signage and billboards to identify products with regulated prices.
