Without changes, despite the errors and inconsistencies recognized by the parliamentary majority, last night the Chamber of Deputies approved the general laws of Electoral Institutions and Procedures and the System of Means of Challenge, which will regulate the first election at the polls of judges, magistrates and ministers.
After a discussion of more than 10 and a half hours, both laws were approved with 342 votes in favor and 128 against and the general law on Electoral Institutions and Procedures was published last night in the Official Gazette of the Federationjust in time for it to come into force and the Senate to issue the call for the process.
The disclosure of the rule on the system of means of challenge was pending.
Morena’s coordinator, Ricardo Monreal Ávila, mentioned that he consulted with the Senate if the errors could be corrected and the minutes returned. The neatest thing, he explained, would be to suppress the contradictions, but finally his party and allies discarded all the reservations that the opposition presented to amend the texts, which include the legal framework for the organization, development and qualification of the process, as well as the framework for challenge the results.

That’s where the PT coordinator, Reginaldo Sandoval, took the parliamentary fencing to respond to Moreira. Bitingly, he blurted out: Last year the PRD said here that the PT was going to disappear. The one that disappeared was the PRD and that’s where PRI and PAN go, without a doubt!

The pique did not stop there. At the insistence of the PRI regarding the imposition of the majority, Luis Fernando Vilchis, also from the PT, blurted out: “we will vote for this reform, but you will not see the Roquesignal”.
Last on the list of speakers, Jorge Luis Sánchez (Morena) described the opposition: “From the PRI of (Jesús) Reyes Heroles only the Wings; and the BREAD of my countryman (Carlos) Castillo Peraza, the Markitos”.
The discursive discussion between the two blocks of the Chamber focused on the method to resolve the courts that will be elected next year.
The opposition criticized that Morena resorted to the raffle to decide the future of hundreds of judges and the cherry bench defended that the Senate applied an insaculation.
Another duel began there.
