The SAT loses more than 1,200 employees in the last two years

Treasury workers report that the lower number of positions is due to staff cuts and employee resignations due to workload; The latter began since the personnel losses began. Treasury figures detail that the decline began in 2020, the year of the covid-19 pandemic. That year, the number of places was 32,221; In 2021, 31,835 places were registered, and at the end of June of this year, 24,800 were registered, this represents 7,531 fewer places since 2020.

“Many people are separating from the SAT, because the workload and the mistreatment are increasing. You put it, there are three people to carry out an objective, one leaves, so now two people do the work of three, another leaves, and the one who stayed is the one who has to do the work, so, that is the reason for the increase in workloads, in addition to the fact that this year has been of higher collection; of course it has been because the workers have developed all their capacity to do their job,” explained a worker. On Tuesday, October 14, SAT Links and Operations workers convened and participated in a sit-down stand (symbolic) at the national level. Among the demands, they highlighted the lack this year of a “retroactive” which is an update to the salary due to inflation; In addition, they reported working hours from 8 in the morning to 10 at night, every day, even some weekends, without financial compensation.

They report that the greatest pressures for work occur alongside the authorities’ discourse of record tax collection, given the drop in income due to lower oil prices and production.

Tax collection in January-September exceeded the goal by 470,000 million pesos and 542,000 million pesos higher than the same period last year, mainly due to the fight against smuggling and tax evasion that the federal government declared at the beginning of the year.

“There were some concerns on the part of some SAT workers in five of the more than 160 offices that we have nationwide, there are concerns about the work environment, which we are addressing in a very timely manner and in dialogue with them, even in support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare and the Ministry of the Interior in dialogue tables to ensure that all workers have the necessary conditions to provide our service in the SAT,” explained Gari Flores, general administrator of SAT Collections, last Tuesday.

Figures from the SAT, from January to June, detail that the level of most cut places, corresponding to Enlaces, are those that receive the least income or cost per level: 24,400 per month on average per place; while the two that increased receive average income of 102,951 pesos per month, each.
