Why?
This measure is with the objective that the taxpayer and the treasury do not lose, because when the accounting firms intervene, they make the process take longer for the companies, in addition to the fact that it is burdensome for the fiscal authority because there is no collection, Buenrostro explained in a conference this Tuesday.
“It is not a secret. We have warned large taxpayers that if they want to pay, we are willing to apply the deductions established by the tax code for fines and surcharges. We do them even if they don’t bring an office. Due to lack of information, the office offers to obtain the maximum deduction, and charges taxpayers a percentage for the deduction,” said the official.
the story behind
Since the beginning of the current federal administration, the treasury has concentrated efforts on collecting taxes for previous years from large companies through audits, and invitations to catch up voluntarily.
The first years of the current six-year term, 2018-2021, there were acts of control and audits. In 2019, there was a peak in the collection for these acts, for 216,001 million pesos (mdp), but in 2021, a decrease was registered when reporting 208,901 mdp.
However, collection, primary, that is, without the need for an audit, increased from 1.6 billion pesos (bp), to 1.7 bp from 2020 to 2021.
“What has happened? Companies no longer wait for an audit to fall on them, they are approaching the SAT to check in advance to correct or self-correct, if they self-correct they save on fines and surcharges, it is convenient for them and the self-correction is being carried out in support of the General Administration of Large Taxpayers, that is why the primary collection continues to rise, because they are self-correcting”, said the head of the SAT, Buenrostro.
