The organization of the South American Rally Race arranged a start from the Buenos Aires city of Carmen de Patagones, close to the Rio Negro city of Viedma, after in Stage 8 of the SARR there were problems with the transfers between the special and the link.
The Bikes on Stage 9
Leonardo Cola was first in the section that joined and culminated in Carmen de Patagones, with a time of 00:12:01 seconds, followed by Guilherme Bissotto and Joaquín Debeljuh.
Flavio Del Zotto and his bike 9 stayed with the competition in M1, followed by Julián Kozac, with Honda, and Leonardo Cola, with Yamaha.
“I came calmly and I began to think about what it was like to arrive here, at the end, when many stayed outside. The last muddy road I thought I was going to stay and that I would have to cross the motorcycle while pushing because situations arise”, assured the BMW rider, and motorcycle champion, before Télam’s request.
In M2, Iván Martín was the best, followed by Diego Roldán, while the German Fabián Von Thuengen came in third place.
Quads
The winner of the Q1 category this Saturday was Francisco Moreno, who set the pace with a time of 03:23:59 seconds, followed by Tobías Carrizo and Andrés Frini.
In the general classification, Facu Viel was crowned, followed by Frini and Moreno, among the three places of importance.
“I am very happy to achieve it and that my brother also celebrates it. I am very excited, the SARR is important and we won it with a job from minor to major, I learned from mistakes“, Said the pilot to Télam after reaching the finish line and celebrating with his relatives, before Télam’s request.
In Q2, Julio César Estanguet was the best with a time of 03:41:11, leaving Bolivia’s Suany Martínez in second place and José Faule on the last step of the podium.
“They started me almost last, I was able to catch up with many of the riders and I didn’t get penalized. That’s why I feel happy, because I’m also the South American champion and I did very well”, indicated the one born in Santa Cruz de la Sierra in her bivouac.
In this category the big winner was Martínez, the pilot from Bolivia, who did a great job to win the title of champion. On the second step of the podium, Estanguet was placed, while Faule completed the three riders.
Finally, in Q3, Mariano Viel reached the best time, which allowed him to climb to the top of the summit. The number 93 won with a mark of 03:41:44 seconds and also served to lead Ayelén Bogado and Gastón Pando by 02:28 seconds.
“This is emotional, the first objective was to arrive and it was achieved, I am super happy. I remember my family for two weeks who help me and I feel that they fulfilled my dream, that’s why I’m very happy and I want to recognize the work of the mechanics, because they are the ones who make it possible for me to be in a definition and arrive again.”, indicated the pilot from Buenos Aires.
For his part, among the generals, the maximum trophy in the category went to Mariano Viel, followed by Bogado and Martín Battistotti.
Trucks, one bad and one good for the Yacopini
In the last stage of SARR 2022, the Mendoza pairing, father and son, suffered a broken engine, but later the organization confirmed their achievement.
The best were the Bolleros, with Rodolfo and Nicolás who accumulated a route in 03:20:47 seconds and were crowned in the Stage, but the Yacoppini pair, absolute dominators, were at the top of the table.
In T2, the duo made up of Francisco and Nicolás Blanco won the section and left Oscar Cruz and Alejandro Aramburu in second place. While in third placement it is already enabled and Jorge Alguacil and Alvaro Hidalgo appear.
UTV and a supremacy with tints “verdeamarelhos”
Nicolás Zingoni was the best in the UTV category. The time used by car number 210 was 03:10:09, which left it at the top of the standings this Saturday. They were followed by the Brazilians Rodrigo Luppi and Maykel Justos, who reached second place in Stage 9, while Jeremías González Ferioli was third, a position that allowed him to be the winner of the T3.1 category.
The Cordovan won the title, followed by Nicolás Cavigliasso and in the last place on the podium went to Guilherme Benchimol, as well as Daniel Spolidoro.
For her part, among the first places in T3.2, Pamela Bozzano won along with Cadu Sachs, after finishing the stage in a time of 03:16:18, followed by the Chileans Francisco Massú and Axel Herlenkott.
However, Bozzano’s victory was not enough to win the champion’s trophy in her first participation in SARR 2022.
De Castro and Roldán were first in the general classification, followed by Bozzano, while Juan Peña and Víctor Panella were in third place.
Category “Nav”
In the trucks, Sergio Larreguy from Chubut was the winner with a Toyota Hilux, which allowed at the end of the day and on the passage of the drivers to the ramp to claim the privileged position to celebrate before the public in Viedma.
A party was held in Viedma, after the stage in Carmen de Patagones, where the South American Rally Race was able to overcome the inclement weather and thus close a 2022 edition with a very satisfactory “Dakar spirit” pending a prompt confirmation of the “South American Dakar”.
