The sale of used cars grew 14.57% in January

In January, in the ranking of best sellers are VW Goal and Trend (8,301 units), followed by the Chevrolet Corsa and Classic (4,636).

The sale of used cars in the local market registered a rise in January of 14.57% compared to December 2022, and in year-on-year terms the increase was 12.91% with 133,073 units, according to data released this Thursday by the Automotive Chamber of Commerce (CCA).

In January 2022, 117,858 units sold were recorded.

“We start a new year with renewed hopes, we have to leave behind a 2022 full of complications, a strange year in which, as rarely as ever, the sales of new cars and used vehicles were on different diagonals,” he explained. Alejandro Lamas, Secretary of the CEC.

Lamas also said that “January gives us a clue that perhaps this 2023 could have a little more logic in terms of the sale of used cars, this means: more sales of 0 km, more sales of used cars, a parallelism that is very difficult to break.”

In January, the ranking of the best-selling used cars included the VW Gol and Trend (8,301 units), followed by the Chevrolet Corsa and Classic (4,636); Toyota Hilux (3,981); Renault Clio: (3,403); Ford Fiesta (3,133); Fiat Palio (2,938); Ford EcoSport (2,919) and Ford Focus (2,757).

By provinces, those that registered increases in their operations in January compared to the same month last year were Neuquén (22.40%); Mendoza (22.07%); La Pampa (19.07%); Formosa (18.21%); San Juan (17.80%) and Santa Cruz (16.88%).
