The Rolling Stones canceled their concert in Amsterdam on Monday, just hours before it was to start after singer Nick Jagger tested positive for COVID-19.
The band announced the cancellation in a statement saying that Jagger, 78, tested positive “after experiencing COVID symptoms upon arrival at the stadium” outside Amsterdam.
There were no further details on his condition.
“I am very sorry that we had to postpone the Amsterdam show on such short notice tonight. Unfortunately I just tested positive for COVID,” Jagger wrote in a Twitter post. «Our goal is to reschedule the date as soon as possible and return as soon as we can. Thank you all for your patience and understanding. Mick».
The rock veterans are touring Europe with a show called sixties to commemorate six decades together. His last concert was at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium on June 9.
The next one has been scheduled in Bern, Switzerland, on June 17.
