The River Plate stadium is renamed ‘More Monumental’

River Plate presents project to have the largest stadium in South America

River Plate announced this Tuesday that its stadium, the Antony Vespucci Liberty, better known as ‘Monumental’, will be called ‘Most Monumental’ by signing a commercial agreement with a supermarket chain.

“This announcement is the key to opening up the possibility of having a better stadium, so that more members can enjoy it and that would not have been possible without this agreement, which we are very happy about”, explained the president of River Plate, Jorge Brito.

“From today it is called More Monumental. Surely when the initial stage of the work is finished we will put up the poster, but the agreement is more important than the number of the agreement for the initiative of this great work”, he maintained.

The supermarket chain pays the Argentine club some 20 million dollars to include its name in the stadium for the next seven years.

In 2020, River Plate began some works so that the stadium, with 72,000 seats, reaches 81,000 and becomes the largest stadium in South Americaahead of Monument of Lima which has a capacity for 80,000 spectators.

According to Britothe stadium sponsorship agreement will allow the club to pay 50% of the projected renovations.
