The holding CREDICORP Formed by the Bank of Credit (BCP) of Peru, BCP Bolivia, Mibanco, Mibanco Colombia, Pacific Group, AFP Prima, Credicorp Capital and Krealo, reported that the net profit attributable to the second quarter of the year increased 36.1% compared to the similar period of the previous year and in 5.2% compared to the first quarter.
With this, financial holding profits added the S/1,822 million, which determined a patrimonial profitability (ROE) of 20.7%. These results include a positive impact of 120 basic points (PBS) related to the relevant profits on the BCP investment portfolio.
“As we climb our innovation portfolio and accelerate the origin in the retail segment, we maintain our commitment to a disciplined execution and the creation of long-term value,” said Alejandro Pérez-Reyes, CFO of Creadorp, highlighting the solid performance and that the net recurring net profit reached a historical maximum.
Digital transformation
During the quarterly presentation to investors, the Holding reaffirmed the solid financial performance and its strategy through investments in technology, consolidating its main businesses and expanding its innovation portfolio.
In that sense, Gianfranco Ferrari, CEO of the Company, highlighted Credicorp’s ability to lead economic recovery through greater relationship with customers through digital services and commissions based, while climbing inclusive solutions such as Yape.
The Super App, which is close to reaching the 15 million monthly active users, the equivalent of 75% of the economically active population of Peru, registered an average of 54.5 transactions per active user per month. Meanwhile, the average use of functionalities of this tool rose to 2.7. As part of their growth career, more than 1.9 million customers accessed credits during the second quarter of the year.
“Yape has established himself as one of the five main taxpayers to entry by commissions in the Peruvian financial system.” Ferrari added.
Sustainable impact
Regarding the advances in sustainability, the deployment of the sustainability strategy 2025–2030 was highlighted, reaching relevant milestones in the reported period. In terms of inclusion, BCP and Yape financially included 100,000 people, accumulating 6.1 million since 2020.
Similarly, the BCP contributed to the improvement of habits of more than 159 thousand clients with financial education programs. For its part, Pacific protected 2.9 million people through inclusive and peaceful insurance health assured 391 thousand Peruvians at the end of the quarter, highlighting the launch of health Yape.
Mibanco signed a financing of up to US $ 100 million with IDB Invest and the International Cooperation Agency of Japan in Peru (JICA) to boost the credit to MSMEs and disbursed S/190 million through its Crediagua product, which enables drinking water and sanitation connections in homes.
Likewise, the BCP granted US $ 1,150 million in sustainable financing and accompanied 122 thousand MSMEs with advisory by WhatsApp. Pacific, on the other hand, trained more than 74 thousand people in risk prevention through “ABC of Pacific”, “Safe Community” and “Protect365”.
Additionally, together with the Universidad del Pacífico, Credicorp presented the first study of issuance factors for economic activities of Peru, a key tool to estimate and manage financed emissions.
In addition, for the second consecutive year, the Holding promoted the CFO´s program together with Sustainable Peru and values consultants, which brings together 38 leading companies, reinforcing the commitment to the development and responsible business management.
