The Buenos Aires governor, Axel Kicillof, affirmed this Thursday that the result of last Sunday’s elections They give the Frente de Todos (FdT) an “energy to continue on the road of reconstruction and transformation in this second stage” of management, and said that the “expectations” in Juntos por el Cambio (JxC) “were disappointed” and “That’s why there is a lot of billing between them.”
“We got an important comeback. Now, we have to get ahead with the immense work that we will do without rest.”said the president in statements to Radio 10.
The governor analyzed that Together “he planned to widen the difference” obtained in the primary elections of September 12, so “they were talking about ten points of difference and since what they expected and predicted was not fulfilled, they have so much trouble.”
“They failed in their electoral strategy: which were the referents that had to face or if they lacked more or less right, and they could not generate more distance”, continued Kicillof.
“The way is not only to go back to before the pandemic, this year we will grow 9 points, but that this benefit in the macro reaches all sectors”Axel Kicillof
He later criticized that former governor María Eugenia Vidal said in the campaign that JxC wanted to “take over the management of the Chambers” and former president Mauricio Macri spoke of “initiating an orderly transition.”
“Their expectations were disappointed, that’s why there is a lot of billing between them. On the other hand, we were very prudent and worked very intensely because the issue was not to overcome an election but the 6 years of accumulated crisis, four of macrismo and two of pandemic “of coronavirus, remarked.
The president also pondered that the difference in the province of Buenos Aires was just 1.20 in favor of Juntos, and remarked that “From the point of view of the legislators, in the Deputies there was a tie and in the Senate three seats were recovered”.
“In the Senate there were 26 legislators from Juntos and 20 from the FdT, and today we are 23-23. It is a much more favorable situation than the one we had at the beginning of the administration. There are reasons to celebrate,” the governor added.
In this context, Kicillof reflected that “the recovery of senators had to do with the work that was done in the First, Fourth and Seventh section, where there was an immense effort by the candidates and mayors”
And in that sense, he added: “The key was that the Nation, the Province and the municipalities of those sections acted in coordination with measures that reached the people.”
Subsequently, he stated that from now on, “the way is not only to go back to before the pandemic, this year we will grow 9 points, but that this benefit in the macro reaches all sectors.”
“There are two models of the country: we believe in a present state that also promotes and, on the other side are those that got into debt, adjusted, reduced wages and took away rights”Axel Kicillof
Kicillof said that after celebrate Militancy Day in Plaza de MayoLast Wednesday, he participated in the dinner that was held at the Olivos Presidential Residence with President Alberto Fernández and Buenos Aires mayors.
When consulted in this regard, the president explained that the electoral result was analyzed in that meeting and discussed “to continue promoting public works, to continue working in the interior of the province with industrial parks, works, routes and universities”.
Today we met again in the Plaza de Mayo.

“There are two models of country: we believe in a present state that also promotes and, on the other side are those that got into debt, adjusted, reduced wages and took away rights,” he said and indicated that “with that model there is no recovery, they do not improve life conditions”.
When asked about the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the governor stated: “Alberto announced that in December he will send a proposal from Argentina to Congress to discuss why any negotiation with the Fund has to go through Parliament.”
“Among the large definitions, he said that no agreement with the Fund can be at the expense of this recovery. It cannot be a program that generates, in the midst of so many needs, more loss of living conditions,” he said.
In this context, he stressed that he will launch “a series of plans to accelerate and deepen reconstruction” for the remaining two years of mandate.
“We had to dedicate ourselves to the pandemic, but now it will be two intense years because the social situation is very bad and everything must be done so that it improves as quickly as possible,” said Kicillof.
