Havana Cuba. – The political prisoner of 11J Walfrido Rodríguez Piloto was repressed in the Valle Grande prison after leading a protest, he told CubaNetby telephone, the prisoner Rodolfo Suárez.
“The second unit chief and a few other guards entered the patio and took Walfrido by force, who was shouting ‘Homeland and Life,'” said the prisoner, also held in Valle Grande.
Rodríguez Piloto was sentenced to 10 years in prison for participating in the historic demonstrations of July 11, 2021.
According to Suárez, the opponent has been requesting medical assistance for months from the prison authorities, who have not agreed to the request.
“He was desperate because he has several ailments: skin, asthma, pressure. He needs a doctor to see him, he needs medicine, which they don’t give him. What they are doing is criminal”, he denounced.
Last September, Rodríguez Piloto denounced through CubaNet that the criminal authorities were planning a “lockup” against him for refusing to dress as a prisoner.
On that occasion, he assured that the Cuban State Security violated all his rights and that they had dealt him “several hands of blows.”
In 2011, Walfrido Rodríguez Piloto was sentenced to five years in prison for leading a peaceful protest in the Plaza de la Revolución. A year later he was released thanks to a pardon from then-ruler Raúl Castro.
