This Friday the Mixed Commission of Economic Planning of the Assembly will start the registration of candidates who apply for the position of Comptroller General of the State. The act will be carried out in the presence of a public faith notary who will guarantee the legality of the entire process.
According to the schedule published by the Chamber of Senators, from this Friday and documents will be received until July 8 of all citizens who are interested in applying for this position and that they must meet 20 requirements according to the approved regulation.
A similar process was opened in May 2016 to elect the person in charge of this office, in that process 77 applicants were presented, of which 50 went to the second stage of evaluation of merits and interview, later 26 came to be considered by the plenary session of the Legislative Assembly, of those, Henry Lucas Ara Pérez, who worked in that department, was elected as the new Comptroller; That mandate, which began on July 1, ends in a week and he will serve as interim until his successor is appointed.
This program drawn up by the Joint Commission provides that on July 9 the envelopes will be opened of all the candidates. The next day the list of all the candidates who have presented themselves will be published.
From July 11 to 15 it would be the verification of compliance with the 20 requirements; Once the documents have been reviewed, the list of eligible applicants will be published on July 17, in a printed medium of each capital city and on the web pages of the Assembly.
From August 1, the reception of challenges will begin against the candidates who had any observations. There will be another purge of those who were challenged by complaints, On August 10, the penultimate list of qualified will be published.
The review will take place from August 11 to 16 of the merits of the candidates who have reached this stage; Between August 17 and 20, the interviews will be held and the final publication date of the candidates who will go to the election in the Assembly will be defined.
