Many people look forward to long weekends as a time to travel or relax.
News Colombia.
Colombia is the country with the most holidays in the world, with a total of 18 days of rest added to the Sundays that in most companies are not working days for employees.
Although for many the break is necessary to spend time with family or on vacation, others believe that the large number of holidays could affect the economy of certain types of businesses. Others believe that sectors such as tourism, gastronomy, entertainment and hotels benefit from this type of holiday.
Curiously, September has no public holidays, which has caught the attention of those Colombians who are looking for a long weekend in this month to go on vacation for at least two days.
The reason, they explain, is that in September there are no patriotic, significant dates or religious festivities, so there is no red day for vacation or rest.
It should be noted that the allocation of holidays in Colombia is mainly due to three celebrations: religious, civic and patriotic. It is also contemplated in the so-called Emiliani Law (1983), which is based on promoting internal tourism, improving labor productivity and better organizing holidays.
